Aside from a handful of interesting photos taken with the Kodak Instamatic and Disc cameras I had as a kid, my true love of photography began when I bought my first digital SLR and began shooting seriously in 2005. I was hooked from the very first of the 5,000 or so shutter actuations on my 20D shooting Christo’s “The Gates” with Ian Carney in February of that year. The many thousands of macro shots taken that spring, often upside down from underneath bushes, led to my love of getting out into the natural world and photographing wildlife. My buddy Agile Jones landed me a job shooting Real Estate photography in 2009 and, as a result, I was privileged to shoot three dozen photographs for the feature article and cover for the Summer 2010 issue of Office Buildings magazine.
Leaving NYC to travel the world and perform with Lightwire Theater in August of 2009 I began photographing our strange electro-luminescently illuminated creatures and fellow performers in and out of costume. Recently, in an effort to create more balance between my life on the road with my life at home in New Orleans I began learning flash technique and have started a headshot, portrait and event photography business. I love working with clients to provide photographs they can have confidence in and am happiest out and about shooting folks performing and celebrating in this unique and inspiring city.
